Fleurus 2008: Rhoda Scott (USA) avec Marka et le FJO Big Band

After passing by the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, she studied at the Conservatoire de Fontainebleau (France). Rhoda Scott combines traditional skills with a great talent for jazz and religious music.
The ambassador of the Hammond organ has excited a wide audience around the world for forty years. She has played with the best, Ray Charles, George Benson, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Morrow.
Nicknamed "The Barefoot Lady" (the organist barefoot), Rhoda Scott was discovered by Count Basie and he soon hired his club in Harlem. That's where Eddie Barclay, always on the lookout for new talent, offered him, in the late 60s, coming to Paris.
She played, including at the Olympia in the first part of a song recital of Gilbert Becaud the early 70s, then recorded a concert soon after in that music hall, accompanied by Joe Thomas (flute / tenor sax) and Cees Kranenburg Jr. (drums). Brunetaud Julien (France) - Boogie Woogie

Aged 26 years, pianist and singer Julien BRUNETAUD was voted Best European Blues Pianist in 2005. In January 2006, he won second place in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (USA). A sacred reward for this brilliant autodidact who has trained in listening to such legendary pianists Otis Spann, Jay Mc Shann or Memphis Slim.

At 18, he met bluesman Nico Wayne Toussaint, who invited him to accompany him. Chaining festivals (Jazz in Marciac, 24 hours of Swing Monségur, Blues Festival Calvi) and tours (Holland, Belgium) with the group, Julien his game matures and crosses paths with other great musicians. It accompanies and Big Joe Turner (Lithuania), England, the English blues diva Dana Gillespie (tour in India and the Mosquito Islands) or Keith B. Brown, Mojo Buford and John Primer.

R & B Explosion is a project born from the meeting of three exceptional musicians.
The first, Alex Schultz, officiated behind the greatest harmonica players of the west-coast such as William Clarke, Rod Piazza or Lester Butler. In 2005, he released his first album, a marvel of blues, swing, jump, with a few touches of jazz.Il is one of the blues guitarists the most popular on the international stage. The second is
Sax Gordon explosive whose playing and his arrangements for brass led him to record and play with such artists as Duke Robillard, John Hammond or James Cotton. For those who have already had the chance to see it on stage and Sax Gordon proves he really is one of the best saxophonists today.
