Brunetaud Julien (France) - Boogie Woogie
Aged 26 years, pianist and singer Julien BRUNETAUD was voted Best European Blues Pianist in 2005. In January 2006, he won second place in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (USA). A sacred reward for this brilliant autodidact who has trained in listening to such legendary pianists Otis Spann, Jay Mc Shann or Memphis Slim.
At 18, he met bluesman Nico Wayne Toussaint, who invited him to accompany him. Chaining festivals (Jazz in Marciac, 24 hours of Swing Monségur, Blues Festival Calvi) and tours (Holland, Belgium) with the group, Julien his game matures and crosses paths with other great musicians. It accompanies and Big Joe Turner (Lithuania), England, the English blues diva Dana Gillespie (tour in India and the Mosquito Islands) or Keith B. Brown, Mojo Buford and John Primer.
Julian then goes his own training BOOGIE JB, and demonstrates that it is an excellent singer. His gravelly voice both sweet and makes each piece a little hypnotic.
The "little prince of the boogie-woogie" as he is known in his hometown Villeneuve-sur-Lot, recorded his first album "Live at the Counter" in Bordeaux in 2002. This wins the prize for best first record.
Julien, always careful to maintain a spirit of authenticity and complicity with his musicians continues its musical journey from London to Madrid via the legendary Cave of Huchette in Paris.
He took the opportunity to record his second album (solo and trio), "Cocktail, blues and boogie," now available on its website www.jbboogie.com.
In 2005, he made the leap to the capital. Connected then two memorable trips to the USA. The first, in New Orleans with New Bumpers with whom he recorded an album in the pure and a second tradition that will mark forever.
the occasion of a tour of the Mississippi with the Bordeaux Blues Connection, Julien made the first part of the living legend BB King in his club Ebony in Indianola.
In November 2005, he accompanied Chuck Berry for an explosive concert in Paris at the Elysee Montmartre. In January, Julien and his drummer William Nouali find themselves in the final of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
Just landed in USA, Julian flew to India to Bombay and his first Blues Festival is a success.
Julian prepares a new album as a trio (with guests of choice) and pays homage to Roosevelt Sykes Blues Festival in Chicago in June 2006.
Julian recorded his third album in New Orleans produced by Richard Bird. It will certainly be the revelation of that day blues.
